The Nagpur Traffic Police has imposed night-time traffic restrictions on the Omkar Nagar Chowk–Manewada Chowk stretch from 11 pm to 5 am, between July 23 and August 7, to facilitate girder-launching work for the railway overbridge being built by CS Construction India Pvt Ltd.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Aditya Mirakhelkar, heavy vehicles travelling from Narendra Nagar towards Manewada Chowk and from Chamat Chakki Chowk via Mhalginagar will be allowed alternately through the single available carriageway during the construction period.
If traffic increases, vehicles from Wardha Road will be allowed to move straight towards Coca-Cola Chowk, while traffic from Narendra Nagar Chowk, Chhatrapati Chowk and Mhalginagar heading towards Manewada Chowk will be diverted via Hudkeshwar Ring Road.
The restrictions have been imposed to ensure smooth bridge construction, reduce traffic congestion and prevent accidents. Motorists have been advised to follow diversion signboards and traffic police instructions during the period.
