The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has set up a special ward for emergency treatment of firecracker burn patients.
During the Diwali days, there are many incidents of burns due to firecrackers. Last year more than 100 patients came for treatment. In view of this number of patients, this year the GMCH has set up a special facility in the emergency department for patients burnt by firecrackers.
Two beds have been reserved in the emergency department for firecracker burn patients. Instructions have been given to the doctors, surgeons, plastic surgeons and ‘CMO’ of the medicine department to get them immediate treatment. Necessary medicines have also been made available.
