The National Workshop 2.0 was held at Government Dental College and Hospital (GDCH), Nagpur, on September 5th and 6th. The event, themed “Teaching & Assessment Technology – A Revolutionary Upliftment in Dental Education,” focused on improving dental education through new teaching methods. This workshop aimed to improve dental education by advancing teaching methods, focusing on better knowledge acquisition, decision-making, and practical skills.
The workshop featured esteemed speakers who covered a blend of basic and advanced educational methods. Key topics included “Asynchronous Online Learning” by Prof. Narasimman from Oman, and “Assessment of Digital Learning” by Dr. Vaibhav Anjankar. Teaching methods discussed were “Micro Teaching” by Dr. Shubada Gade, “Early Clinical Exposure” by Dr. Anjali Bhoyar Borle, and “OSCE & OSPE” by Dr. Kamal Shigli. Advanced topics included “Fostering Critical Thinking and Creativity” by Dr. Abhay Datarkar and “Reflective Practice & Assessment” by Dr. Varsha Manekar.
The Delegate papers were presented, which received a lot of appreciation. Dr. Jaya Joshi and Dr. Noopur Kokane were awarded first and second best paper prizes. The workshop saw participation from 180 delegates nationwide, with 70% joining online. The event, praised for its engaging content and execution, was successfully organized by the Dental Education Technology Cell of Government Dental College & Hospital, Nagpur. The Session chairpersons were Dr Phadnaik, Dr Wharadpande, and Dr Ritesh Kalaskar. The Dean Dr Datarkar appreciated the organisers and participants. The organising chairperson Dr Varsha Manekar took special efforts to plan and execute the hybrid workshop on Zoom platform.
