Probably for the first time the ministers in the newly formed government in Maharashtra, the ministers will be inducted at Raj Bhavan in Nagur on December 15. Only Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar took oath in Mumbai, reliable sources said.
Installation of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) and Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) alliance government was delayed even after getting the historical majority. The issue was related to the distribution of portfolios. Following several meetings, and the intervention of BJP’s high command the tangle appears to have been solved.
The expansion of the Fadnavis-led ministry was delayed and now will be held on the eve of the winter session of the State Legislature scheduled to begin in Nagpur on December 16. Although the exact number of ministers to be sworn in and their portfolios have not been disclosed as yet, there was a strong demand from Shiv Sena and NCP for key ministries of Home, Finance, Power, PWD etc.
