The teaser for Salman Khan’s much-awaited film ‘Sikandar’ may have arrived a day later than expected, but it’s sure to leave fans excited. The action-packed glimpse promises an adrenaline rush for his audience. While Salman has had a mixed bag of successes in recent years, with some films underperforming both critically and commercially, ‘Sikandar’ marks his return to a familiar genre. His career was revitalized in 2009 with the film *Wanted*, which brought a South Indian flavor to Bollywood, and it seems ‘Sikandar’, directed by AR Murugadoss, is set to continue that trend.
The one-and-a-half-minute teaser begins with Salman Khan’s character, Sikandar, entering a grand room adorned with Samurai statues. As he walks through, the statues come to life, armed with weapons and trapping him. Unfazed, Sikandar takes them on one by one, using shotguns to defend himself. The music starts with a guitar riff similar to Breaking Benjamin, transitions into rap, and wraps up with an energetic bhangra beat.
The Sikandar teaser was supposed to be released on the occasion of Salman’s 59th birthday on December 27, but was delayed by a day in honour of the late PM Manmohan Singh. Salman’s fans seemed to be pleased with what they saw in the teaser. “This is MASS. Salman Khan is Back. What BGM. What colour scaling. Eid celebrations begin today,” one fan wrote in the comments section on YouTube. “Woooooowoooooo… Salman Bhaiii.. Is Backk.. Sikandar…”
Salman was last seen in the big-budget action film Tiger 3, which did well enough at the box office, but its success was offset by massive costs. Before that, he starred in the critical and commercial dud Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Sikandar, also starring Rashmika Mandanna, will be released during Eid 2025.
