Mumbai: Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) is urging electricity consumers to embrace digital payment methods, emphasizing convenience and cost-saving benefits. Currently, over 70% of electricity consumers in Maharashtra already pay their bills online. Through the Lucky Digital Customer Scheme, MSEDCL aims to further boost this number.
To facilitate digital transactions, MSEDCL offers multiple platforms, including its official website and mobile app, along with a 0.25% discount on digital payments. Under the scheme, consumers who pay their electricity bills online for three or more consecutive months between January 1 and May 31, 2025, will qualify for monthly lucky draws, with prizes such as smartphones and smartwatches up for grabs at the subdivision level.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Payments must be made digitally for three consecutive months between January 1 and May 31, 2025.
- The minimum electricity bill amount should be ₹100.
- Only low-pressure electricity consumers are eligible.
Exclusions:
- Defaulters and consumers paying bills for public water supply or street lighting are not eligible for the scheme.
