KGNPS, Nagpur, recently celebrated their annual sports event, ‘Champions in Action – Eco Warriors in Stride,’ marking their 16th Annual Day. Primary students marched with placards promoting eco-friendly practices. Students shared information about a few Indian eco-warriors, environmental conservation, and the importance of sustainable living. There was a superb Karate and Self-Defense display by the STEPS Karate Club, led by Coach Shihan Shahwar Khan (5th Dan), along with brilliantly choreographed drills by teachers on themes such as saving water, saying no to plastic, using solar energy, and avoiding junk food. Fathers also participated in some races alongside their children.
The esteemed guests included Mr. Tanveer Mirza, President of Nagpur First and Yashodhara Foundation; Mrs. Ayesha Mirza; Mrs. Fauzia and Mr. Aafaque Faizi; Dr. Meraj Shaikh; Dr. Mrs. Irfania Shaikh; Finger Artist Mrs. Sukunat Quazi; Dr. Shoeb Waheed; Mr. Khalid Khan; Mr. Ziya of PSF; Mr. Suraj Shrivastava and his team members from Nagpur Ploggers; Mrs. Nusrat Arshad; Mrs. Rahila Baig; and Mrs. Shruti. They were prominently present and highly appreciated the creative display.
Dr. Shazia Khan, Founder Director of STEPS Playschool, acknowledged the presence of guests and the large number of parents, congratulating the students, staff, and parent volunteers for the success of the program. Principals from various city schools and academicians also graced the event. Yashodhara Foundation, an NGO promoting sustainable living initiatives, and the Professional Solidarity Forum, which promotes physical, mental, and moral fitness in youth, were felicitated for their commendable work.
The anchors for the event were Mrs. Veena Pillai and Mrs. Mukteshwari Sahu. The school report was presented by Mrs. Bina Rehman, and Mrs. Manisha Kadwe, Centre Head, proposed the vote of thanks.
