Nagpur: The Zone 4 Police, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rashmita Rao N (IPS), launched a special operation targeting motorcycles equipped with loud, modified silencers on Tuesday. The drive was conducted across Zone 4 as part of Police Raising Day Week initiatives.
During the operation, a total of 41 motorcycles with excessively noisy silencers were identified, and their riders were penalized. The confiscated silencers were destroyed under a road roller at the Bhandevadi dumping yard under Wathoda Police Station. DCP Rashmita Rao, along with senior officers from various police stations, supervised the enforcement action.
DCP Rao has directed all station in-charges in Zone 4 to continue taking strict action against:
• Motorcycles fitted with loud silencers
• Vehicles without registration plates
• Four-wheelers with black-tinted windows
• Drivers violating traffic rules
Citizens have been urged to adhere to traffic regulations and avoid modifications that cause noise pollution or inconvenience to the public. Officials have warned that repeated violations will result in severe legal consequences.
