Rashtrsant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University and Tailchitra Foundation have jointly organised the ‘Nagpur Film Festival’ at the University’s Jamnalal Bajaj Administrative Building, from January 8 to 12.
Prominent directors, actors, and producers will remain present and interact with the audience
The Film Festival will be inaugurated at the hands of the Officiating VC Dr Prashant Bokare, and Commissioner of Police Dr Ravindra Singhal on January 9. Television and film actor Gajendra Chouhan and actress and director Kranti Redkar will be the guests for the concluding function on January 12.
The itinerary for the film festival is – Jan 9 : Script writing – 5 pm to 6 pm – Swami Vivekananda, Ma Jijau, Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati.
6 pm to 9 pm – Screening of film on Vintage Projector.
Jan 10: 5 pm to 6 pm – Script writing on 75 years of Constitution, Veer Balak Diwas, Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar.
6 pm to 9 pm – Screening of films on Vintage Projector.
Jan 11: 1 pm – Screening of film on children at Raj Kapoor Hall, Jamnalal Bajaj Hall.
2 pm to 5 pm – Screening of professional documentaries at Prabha Atrey Hall, at Ramanijam Hall of Department of Mathematics; and short films at Shyam Benegal Hall, Department of Mathematics; and Campus A category short films at Mohammad Rafi Hall, Dorle Hall, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Film Director Atul Pande will talk about the film ‘Mai Nida’ at 3 pm; Director Milind Lele will have a special interaction on ‘Chitrapat Sanskruti ka Darpan’ at 4 pm. At 5 pm ‘Jengo Lingo Khapri’ dance group will present a cultural programme .
Jan 12: 8.30 am – Film procession; Gajendra Chouhan and Kranti Redkar interact at Raj Kapoor Hall at 9 am. At 11 am Kranti Redkar and writer Sameer Satija will talk on women empowerment and film. At 12.45 pm Writer and actor Yogesh Soman, and actor Ajay Purkar will talk on the finer qualities in acting, at 2.30 pm Sound Engineer Vijay Dayal and Gandhar Mokashi will explain sound management in films. At 4.15 Director Digpal Lanjekar and Praveen Tarde will speak on ‘From script to screen’.
The concluding function will be held at 6.30 pm at Jamnalal Bajaj Hall.
