The Enforcement Directorate (ED) team has raided the Residence of Rohit and Abhishek Bablu Thakur, who is the main accused in the case of embezzlement of more than Rs 12 crore in the name of online booking. The investigating agency officials reached various places including the residence of the accused in Sahakarnagar at 4 am on Wednesday.
Tadoba Project Director and Chief Forest Conservator Dr. Jitendra Ramgaonkar had exposed a scam of more than Rs 12 crore in online ticket sales in the world famous Tadoba Andhari project. A case has also been registered at Ramnagar Police Station on the basis of the complaint.
Meanwhile, later the matter went to the court. The court had asked the Thakur brothers to deposit the money. At that time Thakur had deposited Rs 2 crore 41 lakh.
They had filed a petition in the Nagpur High Court seeking permission to deposit Rs 3 crore by October 12. The Thakur brothers had again sought time to deposit the remaining Rs 3 crore. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate raided the Thakur brothers’ residence in Sarkar Nagar as well as Swaad Hotel, petrol pump, bakery and other establishments on Wednesday morning.
