The Wrestling Federation of India approved Wrestling contest for men and women will be held from January 29 to February 2. Women’s wrestling competitions will be held in Deoli in Wardha district with the initiative of ex-MP Ramdas Tadas, who is also Maharashtra Wrestling Council and former Vidarbha Kesari Wrestling Title winner.
The contests will be held in traditional mud and mat rings. The competition for men will be held at Wadia Park, Ahilyanagar on January 24 and 25.
The selection of men and women for the competition for the Wardha district will be held on January 15.Secretary of the District Wrestling Committee Madansingh Chawre said that the contest will be held in weight categories of 50, 53, 55, 57, 59, 62, 65, and 72 Kg. Women’s Maharashtra Kesari Title contest will be held in 65 and 76 Kg categories.
Parents’ consent for participating is essential. Separate forms for mud and mat contests are required to be submitted.
