Nagpur city police are organizing the ‘Tiger Run’ on Saturday, January 25, to raise awareness about drug abuse and cybercrime. The event, starting from Shivaji Stadium at the Police Headquarters on Katol Road, has already attracted over 12,500 participants, including 12 foreigners.

Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, during a press conference on Thursday, highlighted the initiative’s goal of promoting a healthy lifestyle and establishing Nagpur as a sports hub. Additional CP Sanjay Patil, DCP (Zone 1) Lohit Matani, and DCP (Traffic) Archit Chandak were also present.
The ‘Tiger Run’ features four categories: 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km. Participants under 18 will compete in the 3 km run, while adults can join the longer distances. Prizes worth ₹7.5 lakh will be awarded to winners across all categories.
Equipped with RFID chips, participants will have access to 12 strategically placed ambulances, medical teams, and support from nearby hospitals.
Dr. Singal emphasized Nagpur’s potential as a sports city due to its favorable weather and infrastructure, adding that the event’s name reflects Nagpur’s status as the tiger capital of India.
