India registered a comfortable four wickets victory over visiting England team in the first ODI match against England as they crossed the target with 64 balls to spare. The victory was made easier as three batters, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel, came at no.3,4 and 5 respectively have scored half centuries, all three of them different in approach and execution.
Though the men in blues had lost their openers for cheaply, leaving the score card reading 19 for two, a swashbuckling counter attack by Shreyas Iyer (59 of 36 balls) took the game out of the hands of England. Shubman Gill have regained his touch and scored a solid 87 of 96 balls and Axar Patel, promoted to number 5, have scored a brisk 52 of 47 balls to ensure the victory.
