Nagpur first to get a fleet of buses
Nagpur Municipal Corporation would get a fleet of 40 E-buses under the PM E-Bus Scheme. NMC is the first in the country to get the E-Buses. The buses are expected to be handed over to NMC in May 2025.
A team from the Union Government’s Urban Development and Housing Department inspected the development of Nagpur city on Friday and expressed satisfaction.
The Department’s Deputy Team Leader Ram Paunikar, Senior Transport Planner Amandip Kumar, Advisor Mishra, Kalyan Reddi of JBM Company, officers of CESL, and bus supplier inspected the NMC’s E-Bus deports. The team then discussed with the Municipal Commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhari.
Transport Administrator Vinod Jadhav, Administrative Officer Ravindra Page, Manager (Admn) Vikas Joshi, Manager (Operations) Rajiv Ghatole, Deputy Engineer Kedar Mishra, Mechanical Engineer Yogesh Lunge, Electrical Engineer Prashant Kalbande, Revenue Inspector Samir Parmar were present.
Nagpur has been sanctioned 150 E-Buses under the scheme. Khapri and Koradi Depots will be developed for the buses by April 2025. MSEDCL Rural (Koradi) is supplying 33 KV Higtension power, the work of which is almost complete.
