In a shocking incident mirroring the recent Pune bus stand case, a man was caught misbehaving with women at Nagpur’s Ganeshpeth Bus Stand. The accused, identified as Mangesh, allegedly pretended to board crowded buses while deliberately making inappropriate contact with female passengers.
According to sources, Mangesh, a resident of Mankapur, has a history of loitering at the central bus station without any travel intent. He reportedly targets crowded Maharashtra State Transport (MSRTC) buses, taking advantage of the rush to engage in inappropriate behavior. Despite repeated complaints from commuters, no concrete action had been taken against him—until now.
On Sunday afternoon, security guard Shankar Soni (35), a resident of Navin Babulkheda, decided to keep an eye on Mangesh after receiving reports of his behavior from hawkers at the bus stand. Observing his actions closely, Soni recorded a video of the accused inappropriately touching women under the pretense of boarding a bus. He immediately apprehended Mangesh and handed him over to the police.
Ganeshpeth police officials confirmed that Mangesh confessed to frequenting the bus stand solely to harass women. Since no woman has yet filed a formal complaint, a case under sections 110 and 117 of the Maharashtra Police Act has been registered as a preventive measure.
