The Public Works Department’s (PWD) National Highway Division will start work on the Nagpur-Butibori six-lane project next month. As part of the plan, a 2.69 km-long flyover will be built on Wardha Road, linking Chinchbhuvan to the Mihan flyover. Once completed, the flyover is expected to permanently ease traffic congestion at Chinchbhuvan Square.
The project follows the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), in which the government covers 40% of the total cost, while the contractor funds the remaining amount. The contractor is later reimbursed after the project’s completion.
The flyover will have a modern design with a single pier cap on a single pier. It will include a 6-lane flyover above and a 4-lane road below, creating a total of 10 lanes to ease traffic. The project has been given to AK Shivhare Company from Bhopal, and work will begin soon.
Additionally, the existing 4-lane road after the Mihan bridge will be expanded to 6 lanes up to Parsodi, improving connectivity.
Key project details
Total cost: 332 crore
Flyover width: 27 meters
Completion timeline: 30 months
