As part of the Amrit Jubilee Year celebrations of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, a fashion show was organized on Saturday, March 8, during the Women Entrepreneurs’ Meet to mark International Women’s Day. The event featured a unique ramp walk where young women showcased outfits made from newspapers, capturing the audience’s attention. This innovative display, which emphasized artistry through waste materials, received widespread appreciation.

The program was graced by Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, renowned singer and social worker Smt. Amruta Fadnavis, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, Additional Commissioner Smt. Aanchal Goyal, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ranjana Lade, Smt. Ashwini Jichkar, Dr. Anushree Chaudhary, and other dignitaries.

The Swachh Bharat Mission IEC team of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation took the initiative to design and create stunning dresses from old newspapers, setting an inspiring example of environmental conservation and creativity. These newspaper dresses became the highlight of the fashion show, promoting the ideas of recycling, innovation, and sustainability.
Many attendees eagerly took selfies with participants in paper outfits, spreading the message of eco-friendly fashion and creativity.
