Wathoda police arrested a robbery suspect within six hours of the crime after a 29-year-old man was attacked and looted near Shailesh Nagar late Wednesday night.
According to the complaint by Shekhar Ramu Raut, he was walking home after purchasing household items when two individuals on a black motorcycle intercepted him. One of the suspects brandished a knife and snatched his mobile phone and ₹550 in cash. When Raut resisted, the second accused struck him on the head with a wooden stick, injuring him, before they fled the scene.
Following an urgent investigation, police detained a minor suspect and, upon questioning, arrested Kunal alias Bhurya Bhaiyyalal Wankhede (20), a resident of Suraj Nagar, Bhandewadi. Wankhede confessed to committing the robbery with the minor.
A case has been registered under Sections 309(6) and 3(5) of the BNS. Further investigation is ongoing.
