A cultural awareness program was organized at Nagpur Central Jail to encourage self-discipline and positive transformation among inmates here, on Tuesday, March 25. The event, “Jeevan Gaane Gaatch Jaave”, was conducted with the support of the Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Department and the Prisons & Correctional Services, Pune.

The program aimed to instill patriotism and provide a platform for inmates to showcase their talents. It featured entertainment, motivational speeches, and skill-building initiatives to aid rehabilitation.
The event was inaugurated by District Information Officer, Nagpur, Vinod Rapatwar, in the presence of Jail Superintendent Vaibhav Aagey, Program Coordinator Dr. Archana Singam, and Additional Superintendent Deepa Aagey, among others.
Addressing the inmates, Vinod Rapatwar encouraged them to embrace a positive outlook and leave behind past mistakes. Superintendent Vaibhav Aagey highlighted various reform programs, stating that 150 inmates had received skill training in the last 90 days to support their reintegration into society.
The event featured musical and dance performances by several artists, including Mukul Pandey, Vijay Sahu, Sneha Dongre, and Bhakti Choudhary. Yashwant Bankar hosted the event, which concluded with a vote of thanks by Deepa Aagey.
This initiative underscores the Maharashtra Government’s commitment to prisoner rehabilitation, using cultural and educational programs to guide inmates toward a better future.
