In a major crackdown, Kalamna police apprehended four juveniles involved in multiple house break-ins and vehicle thefts, exposing a disturbing pattern of crime driven by their desire for an extravagant lifestyle and to impress their girlfriends.
According to police, the case came to light after a complaint by Pradeep Sitaram Wasnik, 44, a resident of Samaj Ekta Society, New Ganesh Nagar, Kalamna. On March 10, Wasnik locked his house and left for Mumbai with his wife. The next day, his neighbor informed him about a break-in. Upon returning, he found the lock broken and valuables worth ₹1,07,000—including two mobile phones (Apple and Vivo) and gold jewelry—stolen. Based on his complaint, police registered a case under BNS Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4).
Using technical surveillance and reliable intelligence, Kalamna police tracked down the four juveniles. During interrogation, they not only admitted to this burglary but also confessed to four other crimes—two additional house break-ins and two vehicle thefts.
The police recovered stolen property worth ₹4,77,600, including gold and silver ornaments, imitation jewelry, an iPhone, a Vivo phone, a Honda CB Shine bike (MH 49 AX 8425), and a white Activa scooter (MH 49 AB 7580).
The operation was led by Senior Inspector Pravin Kale and his team at Kalamna Police Station. Further investigation is ongoing.
