The changing weather continues to impact Maharashtra, especially Nagpur and the Vidarbha region. The Nagpur Regional Meteorological Department has predicted unseasonal rain in parts of Vidarbha over the next one to two days, which may bring new challenges for farmers already facing weather-related issues.
According to the forecast, a trough (upper air cyclonic circulation) and cyclonic winds are currently active in Vidarbha. These weather systems are drawing moisture from the Bay of Bengal, increasing the chances of rainfall in some areas. Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are also likely in a few districts.
Wind speeds may reach up to 40–50 km/h, which could damage standing crops and light infrastructure.
While rainfall is expected, daytime temperatures will remain higher than normal. However, the weather department has stated that no heatwave warning has been issued for Vidarbha for the next five days.
Earlier, a low-pressure system over the west-central Bay of Bengal had weakened. But now, a new low-pressure area is active from western Rajasthan to northern Vidarbha, causing these weather changes.
Coastal regions are seeing some relief from the heat, but many areas in Maharashtra, including Vidarbha, continue to record temperatures around 40°C.
These sudden weather changes may trouble farmers, especially those preparing for the next round of sowing. Authorities have advised them to follow weather updates and take necessary steps to protect their crops and equipment.
