The intense heatwave showed no signs of relief on Monday as Nagpur recorded a maximum temperature of 43.6°C. Streets remained relatively empty during peak hours, and citizens took to staying indoors to avoid the afternoon sun.
Chandrapur once again emerged as the hottest location in Vidarbha, touching a scorching 45.6°C. It was closely followed by Brahmpuri at 45.0°C, Amravati at 44.6°C, and Akola at 44.1°C, all of which remained above the 44-degree mark. Meanwhile, other districts also witnessed high temperatures — Wardha and Yavatmal both recorded 43.4°C, Gadchiroli reported 43.0°C, Washim 42.5°C, and Gondia 42.1°C. Bhandara and Buldana were slightly better off, recording 41.4°C and 39.8°C respectively.
Authorities have advised people to stay hydrated, avoid direct exposure to sunlight during noon hours, and take special care of children and senior citizens.
