The sweltering heat continues to grip Nagpur and the surrounding Vidarbha region, with temperatures hitting 42.6°C in Nagpur today. Brahmpuri was the hottest spot at 44.2°C, followed closely by Akola at 43.9°C. Other cities like Amravati reached 42.8°C, and Wardha recorded 42.6°C. Meanwhile, temperatures in Gadchiroli were 42.2°C, Chandrapur 42.0°C, and Yavatmal 42.4°C. Washim stood at 41.4°C, Bhandara at 41.0°C, and Gondia saw a temperature of 40.9°C. Buldana recorded a relatively cooler 37.6°C.
However, after days of oppressive heat, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted thunderstorms and light to moderate rain starting today, April 26, and continuing through April 29. The forecast predicts strong thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across the region.
