Rapid changes in weather conditions across Maharashtra have become a growing concern. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for increasing instability in the Vidarbha region on May 2nd. While some areas will continue to experience intense heat, others may see thunderstorms, strong winds, and light rain.
Temperatures are set to climb above 40°C across many cities in Vidarbha, with Akola bracing for a scorching 44°C and Amravati close behind at 43°C—creating dangerously hot conditions.
Nagpur, Wardha, Chandrapur, and Yavatmal will also feel the heat, with daytime highs ranging from 41°C to 43°C. Gondia might get a slight reprieve, with maximum temperatures around 37°C. While Akola, Amravati, and Buldhana are likely to endure intense daytime heat, some relief could come later, as cloud cover is expected to build by afternoon.
Nagpur, Chandrapur, Wardha, Gondia, and Bhandara are in for turbulent weather, with forecasts predicting thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. Some isolated spots in these districts might also see short bursts of rain. Authorities are urging people to stay alert and strictly follow the IMD’s advisories to ensure their safety.
