A massive fire broke out at a scrap shop in the Ratan Nagar locality of Mankapur, Nagpur, early Friday morning, triggering panic among residents due to its proximity to an LPG gas pump. Thanks to the swift response of the fire department, a major disaster was narrowly averted.
The blaze erupted at AG Trading, a scrap dealership known for dealing in discarded household appliances, furniture, and electronics. Flames quickly engulfed the premises, sending dense clouds of smoke into the air. Local residents, alarmed by the rapidly spreading fire and the potential risk of an explosion from the nearby gas pump, promptly alerted emergency services.
Three fire tenders were dispatched immediately and managed to control the fire before it could spread further. Firefighters worked efficiently to contain the blaze and prevent it from reaching the LPG pump, which could have led to a catastrophic explosion.
While no injuries or casualties have been reported, authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Preliminary reports suggest a possible short circuit or ignition of flammable materials as the trigger.
