Nagpur: In a joint operation, the Crime Branch Unit 5, Social Security Department, and Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) on Sunday busted an illegal rave party involving MD drug consumption at a farmhouse near Asha Hospital on Kamptee Road under New Kamptee Police Station limits.
The raid, conducted between 1 am and 5 am, resulted in the detention of eight individuals, including four men and four women, for consuming banned substances and hosting the party. The prime accused were identified as Sunil Shankarlal Agrawal (61), Gautam Sushil Jain (51), Nilesh Babulal Gadiya (61), and Mitesh Manoharlal Khakkar (48), all residents of Ramdaspeth and Kamptee areas of Nagpur.
From the spot, police seized 1.31 grams of MD powder in a zip-lock pouch, a hookah pot, tobacco-flavored sachets, Rs 58,000 in cash, six mobile phones, and two four-wheelers. The total value of the seized material is approximately Rs 26.07 lakh.
A case has been registered under Sections 8(c), 21(a), and 29 of the NDPS Act, along with Sections 4(1), 5(1), and 21 of the COTPA Act. All accused were handed over to New Kamptee Police for further legal action. The investigation is ongoing.
These operations were executed under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil, with efforts led by PI Gajanan Gulhane and their teams.
