Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Nagpur on May 26 for a day-long engagement involving multiple official functions. Shah is expected to arrive in the city on the night of May 25.
During his visit, the Union Minister will lay the foundation stone for Swasti Niwas at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the new campus of the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Chicholi.
In preparation for the high-profile visit, Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari held a review meeting on Thursday to assess the arrangements. After a detailed inspection of the preparations being carried out by various government departments and organizing bodies, Bidari issued necessary directives to ensure smooth conduct of the events.
The review meeting was attended by several senior officials, including Divisional Additional Commissioner Dr. Madhavi Khode-Chaware, Special Inspector General of Police Sandeep Patil, Zilla Parishad CEO Vinayak Mahamuni, Superintendent of Police Harsh Poddar, and Additional District Collector Praveen Mahire, among others.
Security arrangements and logistical planning are reportedly being handled with utmost priority, given the significance of the visit and the stature of the guest.
