The Department of Social Welfare has opened applications for the Overseas Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2025–26, aimed at supporting eligible students from minority communities in Maharashtra to pursue higher education abroad.
The deadline to submit applications is August 1. As per the eligibility criteria, applicants must be permanent residents of Maharashtra and belong to a recognized minority community.
Candidates applying for postgraduate courses must be under 35 years of age, while those applying for PhD programmes should be below 40. Additionally, the applicant’s annual family income must not exceed ₹8 lakh.

The initiative is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusive education and empower students from minority backgrounds with global academic opportunities.
