Potholes appear, are filled, and then reappear. Despite this, potholes continue to trouble the city’s roads. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation claims to have filled 1,157 potholes in just two months. However, citizens are questioning the actual number of potholes filled, as many roads still remain in poor condition.
Citizens have repeatedly complained about damaged roads and potholes, especially during the monsoon season. In response, the municipal Hotmix Department has been engaged in repair work. From June to July 2025, a total of 1,157 potholes were filled using 209.5 tons of cold mix and hotmix material.
As per the department, 151.5 tons of cold mix and 57.9 tons of hotmix were used. Potholes on many major roads like Cement Road, Hotmix Plant Road, and Inner Ring Road were repaired during this period. According to officials, in some zones, potholes were repaired using grit and debris due to adverse weather conditions.
The Municipal Corporation insists that potholes are being regularly repaired and monitored. The entire focus of the Hotmix Department during the rains has been on this issue.
