Nagpur Police under Operation Drishti, reviewed 30,000 posts on social media and removed 650 objectionable ones in a large-scale cyber monitoring drive. The initiative, launched by Nagpur Police’s Social Media Cell, aims to identify and take down harmful, misleading, and illegal online content.
Chief Minister will visit the Police Headquarters today at 11:30 a.m. to view a presentation on the operation’s achievements and progress. The campaign, started in 2025, has been monitoring various platforms to track objectionable posts and help victims of cyber fraud.
During the operation, police also traced and facilitated the return of funds to victims of cybercrime. A total of ₹2.6 crore has been refunded to affected citizens through coordinated efforts with banks and other agencies. The initiative has provided relief to hundreds of victims, including cases involving online fraud, phishing, fake loan apps, and other cybercrimes.
Officials stated that such operations not only help in removing harmful content but also play a crucial role in restoring public trust in law enforcement’s digital vigilance.
