A brief spell of rain yesterday evening left residents of Godrej Orchid City, Ghogli, struggling with knee-deep waterlogging. Within just an hour of rainfall, the entire society was inundated, causing severe inconvenience to hundreds of families.
According to residents, the root cause of the problem lies in faulty planning and construction by Godrej. It is alleged that the builder constructed an internal road by blocking the natural drainage channel that was originally meant to carry away rainwater. With no outlet available, rainwater accumulated in the premises and remained stagnant until late last night.
Frustrated residents expressed anger over the negligence, pointing out that such incidents expose the risks of poor infrastructure planning in premium housing projects. They have demanded immediate corrective measures to restore the natural drainage system and prevent future flooding.
