In an effort to promote environmental sustainability during the Ganesh festival, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is organizing a special Eco-Friendly Ganesha Making Workshop on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging citizens to adopt eco-friendly practices by creating idols made of natural and biodegradable materials. The workshop will guide participants on crafting Ganesha idols that are safe for immersion and cause no harm to water bodies or the environment.
The workshop will be held at Kavi Suresh Bhat Auditorium, Nagpur, beginning at 10:00 AM. Civic officials stated that the program is part of the city’s ongoing commitment under the Swachh Survekshan 2025 campaign, which emphasizes sustainable celebrations and community participation.
Through this initiative, the NMC seeks to inspire citizens to celebrate Ganeshotsav with devotion while also taking responsibility for protecting the environment.
