VIA MSME Forum, in association with the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India – MSME-DFO, Nagpur, organised a session on “Subsidy & Other Schemes for MSMEs by Govt. of India” on 22nd August 2025 at VIA Auditorium, Nagpur.
Chief Guest and Key Speaker Dr Vijay Sirsath, Jt Director, MSME-DFO, Nagpur, highlighted various initiatives, financial assistance, and support schemes available to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance competitiveness and growth. He elaborated on the new classification of MSMEs, effective from April 1, 2025, which applies uniformly to both manufacturing and service sectors under Udyam Registration. He highlighted various initiatives of the Ministry of MSME aimed at strengthening competitiveness, market access, and innovation among micro, small, and medium enterprises. He explained the Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme, which facilitates MSME participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, bar code adoption, and integration with e-commerce platforms. Special emphasis was placed on the MSME Innovative Scheme, providing assistance in filing intellectual property rights including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs, with grants up to ₹1 crore for establishing Intellectual Property Facilitation Centres (IPFCs). Other schemes discussed included MSE-CDP, Lean Manufacturing, Business Incubation, Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED), CGTMSE, CLCSS, and support through Technology Centres (TCs).
Guest of Honour, G. O. Bharti, Joint Director of Industries, informed participants about the MAITRI Portal 2.0 launched by the Government of Maharashtra. He explained how the portal serves as a single-window system for investors and entrepreneurs, offering faster clearances, approvals, and support services to promote ease of doing business in the state. He spoke about Ease of doing business initiative of Govt of Maharashtra. Single window Clearance Act passed by Govt of Maharashtra and other schemes in pipeline & policy on Bamboo, Garments & MSME State policy.
C S Dodke, Ex. Assistant Director, Ministry of MSME, made a detailed presentation on flagship schemes such as the Special Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (CLCSS) for technology upgradation, and the Stand-Up India and Start-Up India initiatives, encouraging women, SC/ST entrepreneurs, and young innovators to leverage government facilitation and financial support for sustainable business growth.
Earlier, CA Girish Deodhar, Chairman – VIA MSME Forum, delivered the opening remarks and conducted the proceedings. CA Naresh Jakhotia, Vice President – VIA, welcomed the Chief Guest and dignitaries with a floral bouquet and briefed about VIA’s various forums and activities. CA Nitin Alshi, Convener – MSME Forum, introduced the guest speaker. Concluding remarks & vote of thanks was given by CA Nitin Agrawal, Jt Secretary – VIA.
Meeting was followed by Q&A session. Meeting was largely attended by Manish Jha, Asst. Director – MSME-DFO, Nagpur O S Bagdia, Julfesh Shah, Darpan Sharma, along with enthusiastic participation from members, industrialists, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
