I’m Panic gripped the Ganeshpeth area on Saturday after a partially decomposed human skeleton was recovered from an old well near the Agyaram Devi temple. Shockingly, the skull and one hand of the skeleton were missing, prompting police to launch a thorough investigation.
According to officials, the well is located on a vacant plot owned by Devesh Prakash Suchak. The family had recently initiated cleaning work on the land. During the cleaning of the well, workers noticed a foul smell, which led to the discovery. Police teams rushed to the spot and, with the help of the fire brigade, retrieved the skeletal remains.
Forensic experts were also called in to examine the skeleton. Preliminary estimates suggest the remains could be around 27–28 days old. The police have registered a case of accidental death and are probing the matter from every possible angle. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
