Built to ease traffic congestion in the city, the Pardi Flyover has now become a nightmare for commuters due to poor construction quality and lack of maintenance. The road surface is severely damaged, with potholes and broken asphalt making travel extremely unsafe.
Continuous rains have worsened the situation, leaving large portions of the flyover filled with waterlogged potholes. Instead of providing convenience, the structure has become a major accident-prone spot, forcing commuters to risk their lives every day.
Residents and daily commuters allege that corruption and negligence during construction are to blame for the present condition. Despite repeated complaints, the authorities have failed to carry out proper repair work, and temporary patching has not solved the problem.
Reports suggest that nearly 100 potholes have developed across the 2.5 km stretch. Two-wheelers, cars, and even buses are facing severe jolts, leading to frequent accidents and damage to vehicles. For bikers, the ride has become especially dangerous, with the risk of skidding and losing balance.
Local citizens are demanding urgent resurfacing and permanent repair of the flyover. Officials have taken note of the situation, but no concrete action has been implemented yet. Until then, the Pardi Flyover remains a death trap for the people of Nagpur.
