The Chinchbhavan Flyover and Sitabuldi Flyover are soon to be connected through a new six-lane flyover, a project that is expected to start this month. Once completed, it will significantly reduce traffic congestion and streamline travel across the city.
The proposed flyover will stretch nearly 3 kilometers. Starting from the existing Chinchbhavan Flyover, it will link directly to the Sitabuldi Flyover, creating a continuous elevated corridor. The project will be executed by a Hyderabad-based contractor at an estimated cost of ₹619.55 crore.
Authorities have directed the contractor to deposit the required security amount by September 15. After this, construction work is likely to begin immediately. The project is scheduled to be completed within 36 months.
The new flyover will feature four main lanes—two up and two down—along with two service lanes. This design aims to ensure smoother passage for vehicles and reduce the load on busy intersections.
Civic officials highlighted that the extension was a long-standing demand of the city. The project will bridge a crucial connectivity gap and is expected to greatly improve east–west mobility in Nagpur.
