A 10-year-old boy from Borgaon Bela village received a special gift from the Wildlife Welfare Society after bravely recovering from a snakebite.
On the evening of September 12, Ayush Nagose was playing near his home when he was bitten by a snake. He received first aid locally and was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur, with the society’s assistance. Doctors treated him promptly and discharged him on Monday.
During their visit to check on his recovery, society members discovered that Ayush lives with his six-year-old brother and grandmother after losing both parents a few years ago. The family is struggling financially, which moved the team to surprise Ayush with a new bicycle to lift his spirits and help with daily errands.
The Wildlife Welfare Society has been working selflessly for years across Nagpur district, guiding hundreds of snakebite victims to timely treatment despite receiving no external funding.
The bicycle was handed over in the presence of society members Nitish Bhandakkar, Anand Shelke, Prajwal Ambadare, Aditya Shastrakar, and Soham Bhandakkar, along with Medical Superintendent Dr. Avinash Gawande and Maharashtra Security Force personnel.
Officials urged residents to remain alert during the monsoon and seek immediate medical care after any snakebite, reinforcing the society’s mission of saving lives through quick action and awareness.
