The India Meteorological Department has forecast a fresh spell of rains in Vidarbha, with Nagpur and adjoining districts set to receive showers from September 26 onwards. A low-pressure area forming over the Bay of Bengal on September 24 is expected to impact the region by September 28.
According to the forecast, rainfall activity will gradually increase across eastern and southern Vidarbha from the afternoon of September 26. On September 27, widespread showers are likely in several parts of Vidarbha, including Nagpur, with the possibility of heavy rain in some pockets. Rainfall is expected to continue in western Maharashtra on September 28.
The weather department has also indicated that the monsoon will remain active in the region at least until September 30, delaying its withdrawal. Farmers in Vidarbha have been urged to take precautionary measures and safeguard harvested crops from rain and wind damage.
