A major water supply disruption occurred this evening after a 500 mm diameter distribution main pipeline in the Kalmna Minimata Command Area was damaged near Umiya Society, Kalmna Road.
According to reports, the pipeline—running beneath a private property—was accidentally damaged during borewell work carried out by the property owner. Following the incident, the entire HDMA-2 zone of the Kalmna Minimata Command Area is expected to face interruptions in water supply until repairs are completed.
The affected localities include Minimata Nagar, Panch Zhopda Nagar, Janta Colony, Janki Nagar, Jalaram Nagar, Surya Nagar, Chikhali Layout, Industrial Area, and Adivasi Hostel Area.
Orange City Water (OCW) and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) have begun urgent repair operations and assured that normal water supply will be restored as early as possible.
