The Vidarbha Economic Development Council (VED Council) is pleased to announce the “Mining Session 2025,”scheduled to be held on Saturday, 11th October 2025, at Narayani Memorial Hall, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
Hon’ble Adv. Shri Ashish Jaiswal, Minister of State for Finance, Planning, Agriculture, Relief and Rehabilitation, Law and Justice, Labour, Government of Maharashtra, and MLA, Ramtek Assembly Constituency, will grace the event as the Chief Guest.
His presence offers a unique opportunity for stakeholders to engage directly with a key official on pressing issues in the mining sector. He will be guiding attendees on navigating legal processes to secure mineral blocks and accepting written representations from the audience regarding challenges they face.
The objective of the session is to address the challenges faced by the mining industry and explore constructive solutions for its growth and sustainability.
The session will feature an insightful panel of speakers, including:
Shri Rajkumar Dongre, Regional Controller of Mines (Retd.), IBM – Key challenges in the MMDR mining leases, mineral trading and dump sales.
Adv. Harish Thakur, Practicing High Court & Supreme Court of India – Understanding the legal definition of “Forest land” even for areas not officially classified as forests.
B. K. Shukla, Mining Law Consultant & Vice President, VED Council – The challenges and slow progress of auctioning mineral blocks and how to speed up the process.
