Operations at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur were disrupted on Friday afternoon after a technical glitch affected a Star Air flight bound for Kishangarh, Rajasthan. The unexpected delay left passengers stranded and sparked a spontaneous protest at the terminal.
According to sources, Star Air flight number S-494 was scheduled to depart at 12:30 p.m. However, just before takeoff, the airline reported a technical issue, forcing passengers to wait for further updates. After a prolonged delay, airport authorities eventually announced the flight’s cancellation, triggering outrage among the roughly 60 passengers on board.
Frustrated travelers gathered inside the terminal, staging a sit-in protest to express their anger. Airport officials later arranged for refreshments and water around 3:00 p.m. to calm the situation, but tensions continued to rise as no clear communication was provided about alternate arrangements.
Many passengers, upset by the lack of timely information, decided to return home, while others stayed at the airport hoping for a resolution. Some travelers reported they had planned family visits for Diwali, while others had urgent business commitments in Rajasthan. All expressed disappointment over the airline’s handling of the situation.
