The senior basketball team of LAD College clinched the Inter-Collegiate Senior Basketball Championship, defeating last year’s titleholders, Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, in a commanding performance.
LAD secured a 38-22 win, with quarter-wise scores of 11-10, 13-08, 12-00, and 02-00.
Key contributions came from Swati Wankhede (13 points), Mitali Kohle (11), Priya Dhapodkar (8), Ruchika Shende (7), and Sharvari Nene (8), whose teamwork and strong defence ensured a convincing victory.
Other team members included Prachi Kolhe, Vijaya Hiwse, and Siya Ahuja.
The team was coached by Arvind Garud, with constant motivation from Principal Dr. Pooja Pathak. The squad also received support from Nilima Waghmare, Head of the Sports Department, along with Kajal Tekade and Pragati Ukey.
The win stands as a testament to the players’ discipline, determination, and teamwork, backed by the unwavering encouragement of the college administration.
