Nagpur: A domestic dispute over an alleged extramarital affair turned tragic when a 31-year-old man killed his wife by hitting her on the head with an iron spade in Panchsheel Nagar, MIDC area, on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the accused, Kishor Shankar Pradhan (31), and his wife Rinki Kishor Pradhan (23), resided near a well in Panchsheel Nagar, MIDC. Rinki was reportedly in an illicit relationship with a man named Karan, which often led to quarrels between the couple. Despite repeated warnings, the disputes continued.
On October 26, around 1:30 pm, Kishor saw his wife talking to Karan over the phone and, in a fit of rage, attacked her with an iron spade, leaving her critically injured. He later took her to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Following a complaint filed by Sub-Inspector Sanjay Bansod, the MIDC Police registered an offence under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused husband. Further investigation is underway.
