Wockhardt Hospitals, Nagpur successfully launched its “Stroke Ready Ambulance” initiative on the occasion of World Stroke Day, marking the day with a unique 10K Ambulance Drive to spread awareness about brain stroke and the importance of timely medical response.
The rally featured around 20–25 ambulances branded with “Stroke Awareness” messages, which travelled across major city routes to reach the public and create greater awareness about brain health. The event began at Shivaji Kreeda Mandal Ground, Gandhi Nagar, at 11:00 am, covering nearly 10 km before concluding at the same location around 1:00 pm.

The initiative was undertaken by Wockhardt Hospitals to educate people about early recognition of stroke symptoms and to emphasize that timely medical attention can save lives and reduce long-term disabilities.
The primary purpose of the rally was to create mass awareness among citizens about stroke recognition, emergency response, and the importance of the golden hour—the critical window in which immediate medical care can significantly improve recovery outcomes.

About the Stroke Ready Ambulance
The newly launched Stroke Ready Ambulance was specially designed to provide on-the-spot emergency care for suspected stroke patients. Unlike regular ambulances, this specialized vehicle is equipped with:
– Advanced life support (ALS) systems
– Portable stroke assessment tools
– Tele-neurology connectivity for real-time consultation with neurologists
– Critical care monitoring systems, oxygen support, and emergency medicines
These features enable the medical team to assess, stabilize, and initiate early stroke management protocols during transit—saving crucial time and improving patient outcomes.
