Nagpur: The Aadiwasi Shaheed Govari Flyover — popularly known as the Sitabuldi Flyover — has once again come under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Already notorious for frequent accidents and a severely damaged service lane dotted with potholes, the stretch has now turned even more perilous due to the sudden appearance of four large, uneven speed breakers near Zero Mile end.
Shockingly, these speed breakers have been constructed without any prior notice, signage, or barricades, leaving motorists unaware and vulnerable. Daily commuters say they now drive in constant fear, unsure of what obstacle might emerge next on the already risky stretch.
Residents and motorists have expressed frustration over the civic authorities’ negligence, pointing out that such unmarked constructions can lead to serious mishaps. “The flyover was already a danger zone due to poor maintenance. Now, these uneven speed breakers have made it worse,” said one commuter.
The absence of warning indicators violates basic road safety norms, raising concerns about accountability. In a situation where even a minor misjudgment could result in severe injury or loss of life, citizens are questioning — who will be held responsible if another accident takes place on this troubled flyover?
Meanwhile, thousands continue to use this route every day, navigating a stretch that has increasingly turned from a convenience into a danger zone.
