Nagpur: To commemorate the birth centenary of legendary filmmaker Guru Dutt, a two-day cultural festival titled “Celebrating Guru Dutt” will be organized in Nagpur on November 15 and 16 at Vanamati Hall. The event is being jointly hosted by PIF: Nagpur Edition and Meraki Performing Arts Organization.
The concept and planning of the festival have been curated by Ajay Gampawar, who shared details about the event during a press conference. Gampawar highlighted that Guru Dutt’s films continue to hold relevance even today due to their timeless themes, poetic storytelling, and innovative cinematic techniques.
The festival will open on November 15 at 6 p.m. with “Hum Rahe Na Hum”, a special visual presentation curated by Gampawar showcasing the memorable songs filmed by Guru Dutt. On the following day, November 16, starting at 10 a.m., noted personalities from the fields of cinema and design will come together to share their perspectives on Guru Dutt’s artistic legacy and lasting influence on Indian cinema.
The event aims to celebrate Guru Dutt’s unmatched creative vision and introduce his cinematic genius to newer generations of film lovers.
