Nagpur: In a major crackdown on drug peddling under Operation Thunder, the NDPS team of Nagpur Police arrested three persons from the Mankapur area for possession of narcotic substances. The action took place in the early hours of November 11, 2025, between 2:30 am and 4:10 am, near Raj Apartment in New Mankapur.
The arrested accused have been identified as Nawab Tohee Jamshed Khan (31), a resident of New Manakapur; Ayush Amrit Meshram (21), from Chetna Apartment, Malkapur; and Rohit Ravindra Singh (26), residing at Gayatri Enclave, Netaji Society, Friends Colony, Gittikhadan. Police have also launched a search for the absconding accused, Shahana Waje alias Pakya Mohammad Arif (30), a resident of Hasanbagh, Nagpur.
According to officials, while patrolling the Manakapur police station area, officers noticed the trio loitering suspiciously near their vehicles. On conducting a search in the presence of panch witnesses, the police recovered 52 grams of MD powder worth ?2.6 lakh. Further inspection led to the seizure of three mobile phones valued at ?60,000, a Mahindra Scorpio car worth ?12 lakh, and an Activa moped valued at ?1 lakh. The total seizure in the operation amounts to ?16.25 lakh.
A case has been registered at Manakapur Police Station under Sections 8(c), 22(c), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Police sources said further investigation is underway to trace the supply network and identify other individuals involved in the illegal trade.
