Enhanced Security Measures taken across Central Railway
Central Railway, Bhusawal Division, RPF personnel, promptly responded to a security alert received from the Divisional Security Control Room (DSCR), Bhusawal, regarding a message found written inside a general coach of Train No. 22177 Mahanagri Express, indicating a bomb threat.
Upon arrival of the train at Bhusawal station at 08:28 hrs, on 12.11.2025, immediate preventive and security measures were initiated. Joint inspection teams comprising personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and local police authorities carried out a detailed and thorough examination of the train.

Teams involved in the inspection included:
• RPF, Bhusaval
• Dog and Explosives Squad
• GRP staff
• City Police
• Special Intelligence Branch (SIB),
• Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB), and
• BDDS Jalgaon
Thorough checks were conducted with the assistance of dog squads and manual inspections. No suspicious object or person was found, and the objectionable message was immediately removed. Following clearance, Train No. 22177 was safely dispatched from Bhusawal at 08:45 hrs.
The train was continuously escorted by RPF and GRP staff up to Burhanpur and Khandwa, and no suspicious or criminal activity was identified during the journey.

In light of the incident and ongoing nationwide security alerts, Central Railway has further strengthened its security arrangements to ensure the safety of passengers, railway employees, and critical assets.

• Dog squads on standby for surprise and random checks at major stations.
• Frequent public announcements and awareness campaigns encouraging passengers to stay alert and report any suspicious activity.
• A dedicated 24×7 War Room is already operational at all Divisional Headquarters providing continuous support and emergency response coordination. This facility monitors train operations, CCTV networks, and passenger feedback round the clock. Any suspicious activity or emergency reported by passengers whether through Rail Madad or other channels is instantly relayed to RPF, GRP, and relevant station authorities, ensuring swift action and timely passenger assistance.
Senior officers are closely monitoring the security setup at key locations to ensure strict implementation of directives. Emergency response teams remain ready to act immediately in case of any untoward incident. Passengers are requested to cooperate with security personnel during checks and to report any unattended luggage, suspicious persons, or unusual activity to railway authorities without hesitation.
