Nagpur: A major fire broke out behind the Mercedes and BYD showrooms in the MIDC Hingna industrial area on Wednesday evening, triggering panic among locals and commuters. Thick plumes of black smoke billowed into the sky and were visible from several kilometres away, drawing crowds to the spot.
Teams from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Fire and Emergency Department rushed to the site and immediately began firefighting operations. Firefighters continued their efforts late into the evening as flames spread rapidly through the area.
The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined, and officials are still assessing the extent of the damage. No casualties were reported till the time of writing.
