The redevelopment of Ajni Railway Station under Central Railway’s Nagpur Division is progressing rapidly, reflecting a major stride toward creating a modern, efficient and passenger-centric railway terminal. The project aims to enhance station infrastructure, improve passenger amenities and ensure seamless movement across platforms.
Significant progress has been achieved on the East Side station building, where internal and external finishing works are in advanced stages, marking a major upgrade to the station’s overall facilities. The construction of two Type-IV residential towers, designed as stilt plus seven-floor structures, has been successfully completed, strengthening staff accommodation and supporting essential railway operations.
Infrastructure enhancement on the platforms is also well underway. On Platforms 4 and 5, all COP columns on the Mumbai end have been erected, contributing to improved shelter and safety for passengers. Passenger movement facilities are being modernized simultaneously. Column encasing on both the North and South Foot Over Bridges has been completed, enabling better connectivity across platforms. Work on the concourse structure is progressing steadily, with column encasing continuing to support the creation of a more efficient and streamlined passenger flow system.
Once completed, the redeveloped Ajni Railway Station will provide enhanced accessibility, upgraded amenities, organised passenger areas and a renewed architectural identity. Central Railway remains committed to executing the project efficiently while ensuring minimal inconvenience to travellers. Passengers are requested to co-operate during ongoing redevelopment works. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
